Lashings World XI Raise More Money for the 3LM
July 2012
On 20th July, a Lashings World XI arrived at Brixworth Cricket Club in Northamptonshire for the third year running to play in a charity cricket match. Cricket stars who turned out included Devon Malcolm, Ian Harvey, Saqlain Mustaq, John Lever, Lou Vincent, Wasim Jaffa and the legendary Gordon Greenidge.
Not surprisngly with the recent rain, the match was weather affected, but the sides managed to play a full T20 match. Lashings posted a huge total of 225 off their 20 overs with Ian Harvey unbeaten on 169. The Northants Select XI started off slowly and at one stage needed a run rate of 25 per over. Some 'generous' bowling from the Lashings’ stars allowed the hosts back into the game, who managed to steel a win with a few balls to spare.
The match was preceded by a sit down lunch and charity auction.
Thank you to Lashings, Devon Malcolm and Brixworth CC for raising funds for The 3 Little Miracles Fund for a third year running.
