International Cricket Stars turn out for The 3 Little Miracles and raise £17,000 in the process

On Friday July 30, a Lashings World XI played a Northamptonshire XI in the picturesque Northamptonshire village of Brixworth. The Lashings side play charity matches around the world and this match was the brain child of former England fast bowler, Devon Malcolm who resides in Northamptonshire. Devon has himself played for The Lashings World XI a number of times and arranged for a host of world stars from the recent past to play in a one off charity match at Brixworth CC. Cricket stars who turned out for Lashings included West Indies legend Ritchie Richardson, Jason Gillespie, Ian Harvey, Saqlain Mustaq, Phil Defreitas Henry Olonga and the side was captained by Kiwi, Chris Harris.
The match raised funds for both Brixworth CC and The 3 Little Miracles Fund. The charity alone raised £17,000 on the day and these monies will go towards the £25,000 needed to purchase a state of the art surgical incubator for the neo-natal intensive care unit at Northampton General Hospital. In December 2009, the 3LM purchased Northampton General Hospital first surgical incubator and the ain for the charity is now to purchase a second unit.
The match was preceded by a sit down lunch for some 400 people with a charity auction that raised some £30,000 Gates opened to up to 1,000 paying spectators later in the afternoon.
