• Level Two – High Dependency.
For babies who need more than level one care but do not fulfill any
of the
criteria for level three. This includes babies weighing less than 1,000g
who
do not need intensive care, babies who need intravenous feeding,
and babies with apnoea (breathing problems) requiring stimulation.
The nursing requirement for high dependency care is 3.5 nurses per cot
allowing 1:2 nursing.
